Using metal grommets on a motorcycle flag is a recipe for disaster. At 70mph, the flag vibrates violently. Metal grommets clanging against a metal pole will quickly tear right through the flag's header, causing you to lose the flag on the highway. Instead, we use a reinforced, double-stitched pole sleeve. The sleeve slides securely over the pole, creating a tight, aerodynamic fit that eliminates vibration points and massively increases the flag's lifespan on the road.

A standard 1-ply flag is too light and fragile for a motorcycle. When subjected to highway wind speeds, a thin 1-ply flag whips chaotically, and the harsh snapping motion quickly breaks the threads, causing the fly end to shred within a few hours of riding. Our 2-Ply Knitted Polyester flag sews two distinct printed layers back-to-back. This creates a much heavier, sturdier flag that streams smoothly behind the bike rather than snapping wildly. The knitted loop structure also absorbs wind energy, resisting edge-fraying far better than standard woven materials.

Motorcycle flags live in the harshest environment of any flag. While our 2-Ply knitted construction is the most durable format available, the extreme physics of highway riding mean no flag will last forever. For riders who do frequent highway touring (70mph+), you can generally expect a high-quality 2-ply flag to last several thousand miles or one solid riding season before the fly end begins to fray. Riders who mostly do local cruising or parade escorts will see their flags last much longer. Many of our touring customers buy two at a time to have a fresh backup ready for major rallies.

Remove the flag from your motorcycle pole. Soak it in a sink or bucket with warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap (like Dawn) for about 15 minutes to loosen dried bug splatter. Gently rub the fabric together to clean off the road grime, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and hang it to air dry. Never put your motorcycle flag in a washing machine or dryer, as the agitation and heat will damage the sleeve stitching and warp the polyester fibers.

You can return the flag within 30 days in original, unused condition for a full refund—a prepaid return label will be provided. If the flag suffers from an out-of-the-box manufacturing defect (such as an unstitched sleeve or misprinted colors), we will replace it free of charge within 30 days. Please note that edge fraying resulting from highway wind exposure is the expected, inevitable lifecycle of any motorcycle flag and is not covered as a manufacturing defect.
