Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the North Carolina Car Flag 12 x 16 inch - Single Sided Printed Polyester North Carolina State Flag - 17 inch White Plastic Flex Pole with Window Clip for Vehicle Display

What is the history and design of the North Carolina state flag?

The North Carolina state flag features a red and blue vertical panel design with a gold star and the letters N and C. The top bar reads 'May 20th, 1775' commemorating the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, and the bottom bar reads 'April 12th, 1776' honoring the Halifax Resolves, when NC became the first colony to authorize its delegates to vote for independence. The current flag design dates to 1885.

What is a flex pole and how is it different from an unbreakable pole?

A flex pole is designed to bend significantly under wind pressure without snapping, making it safer at low speeds than a rigid pole. An unbreakable pole (like the 19-inch version on the 10.5x15 premium flag) is made from heavier-duty plastic that withstands higher wind loads and highway speeds.

What speed is this flag designed for?

This flag and pole are rated for city and suburban driving speeds under 45 mph. At highway speeds the flex pole may oscillate excessively and the fabric can develop stress at the attachment point. Remove before highway travel.

How does the 12x16 option compare to the 10.5x15 premium car flag?

The 12x16 is a budget-friendly option with a single-sided print and lighter 17-inch flex pole. The 10.5x15 premium version offers double-sided wrap knitted polyester and a stronger 19-inch unbreakable pole — better for regular daily driving.

Is this flag single-sided or double-sided?

This is a single-sided printed flag. The state design appears correctly on the front face; the back will show a mirrored reverse image, which is standard for single-sided printed flags.

How do I attach this flag to my car window?

Slide the window clip over the top of your car window frame, then roll the window up against the clip to secure it. The 17-inch flex pole extends above the window with the flag flying freely.
