Flag Features
Printed polyester on a flex pole — Arizona's sunburst flying from your window on game day, parade day, and every proud mile in between
12×16 Inch Car Format
The 12×16 inch size is the recognized standard for car window flags — visible from a distance without blocking the driver's sightline or extending dangerously past the door panel. Proportioned for the window-mount position on all standard passenger vehicles.
17-Inch Flex Pole
The white plastic flex pole bends progressively under wind load at speed and springs back to vertical when you slow down — absorbing aerodynamic stress instead of transferring it to the clip or snapping under sustained pressure the way a rigid pole would.
Window Clip Mount
The clip seats over the top edge of a partially rolled-down car window in seconds — no tools, no adhesive, no drilling, no modification to your vehicle required. Installs and removes in under 10 seconds at the window.
Bold Arizona Sunburst
Arizona's thirteen alternating red and gold sunbeams, central copper star, and lower blue field — printed with vivid color separation. The sunburst pattern is unmistakable at highway distances and catches the eye immediately in parade and game-day traffic.
Sleeve Mount — No Hardware
The flag panel has a sewn sleeve along the hoist edge that slides directly over the pole tip. No grommets, no snap hooks, no clips on the flag itself. Slide on, slide off — the whole assembly takes seconds to put together or swap out.
Arizona's 1917 Flag
Faithfully reproduces Arizona's official state flag as adopted February 27, 1917 — designed by Captain Charles W. Harris of the Arizona National Guard. Thirteen sunbeams for the original colonies, copper star for the copper state, blue field matching the US flag.

Care & Maintenance
Getting the most from your Arizona car flag and flex pole
-
Speed Management
The single most important care step: keep speeds under 45 mph while the flag is mounted. At higher speeds, the flex pole bends nearly horizontal and the flag wraps around the pole or window frame — both of which cause permanent creasing in the fabric and fatigue fractures in the pole over time. Remove before highway driving and reinstall at your destination.
-
Flag Cleaning
Spot-clean the flag panel with a damp cloth and mild soap for road dust and light soiling. For heavier cleaning, hand wash gently in cool water — do not machine wash or wring. Air dry flat or hanging before remounting. Avoid folding at the same crease repeatedly to prevent permanent fold lines in the print.
-
Pole Care
After each use, slide the flag off the pole and store both separately to prevent the sleeve from creasing around the pole. Inspect the pole base where it meets the window clip for hairline cracks — this is the highest-stress point. A cracked pole base should be replaced before the next outing.
-
Between-Use Storage
Store the flag flat or loosely rolled and the pole straight — never coil the flex pole tightly, as plastic fatigue at the bend will cause it to crack at that point. A slim sleeve or the original packaging keeps both protected. In Arizona's heat, avoid leaving the flag assembly in a hot closed vehicle for extended periods — heat accelerates color fading and can warp the plastic pole.
-
Window Clip Care
Wipe the window clip with a dry cloth after use to remove road grime and dust from the clip jaws — buildup reduces grip. Check that the clip jaw tension still holds securely on the window glass edge before each outing. If the clip slips on a clean, dry window edge, it is worn and should be replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the PromoPatriot Arizona State Car Window Flag 12×16 Inch
The recommended maximum speed is under 45 mph. This is not a conservative guideline — it reflects how aerodynamic drag scales with speed. Above 45 mph, the force on the flag and pole increases sharply with every additional mph, and the flex pole will be bent nearly horizontal rather than gently flexing upright. At that angle, the flag wraps around the pole or window frame, causing permanent creasing in the fabric and repeated flex-fatigue in the plastic pole that leads to cracking at the base. The window clip is also more likely to unseat at higher speeds. For game-day drives to the stadium on city streets, neighborhood parade routes, and tailgate parking lot driving, you'll stay comfortably under 45 mph. If you need to get on the highway at any point, remove the flag assembly and stow it before merging, then reinstall when you exit.
The window clip is a spring-tension jaw that grips the top edge of your car window glass when the window is partially rolled down — typically 2 to 3 inches is enough to seat the clip securely. The clip has two jaws: the outer jaw rests against the outside surface of the glass and holds the pole against the exterior of the door, while the inner jaw sits inside the window channel to keep the clip from sliding. No tools, no adhesive, no drilling, and no modification to the vehicle are required. To mount: roll down your window 2–3 inches, slide the flag onto the pole, then hook the clip over the glass edge from the outside and press it firmly until it seats. Give the pole a gentle outward tug before driving to confirm it's secure. To remove: press the clip jaws together slightly and lift it off the window edge.
The window clip is designed to grip the glass edge rather than the painted door panel, and the contact surfaces of the clip jaws are smooth plastic rather than metal. Under normal, correctly-installed use at recommended speeds, the clip should not scratch the window glass or the door paint. However, if the clip slips or vibrates against the window frame or door panel during driving — which can happen if the clip is not fully seated, if driving above 45 mph, or if the window glass has an unusual profile — repeated contact may cause fine scratches over time. For the cleanest installation, ensure the clip is seated fully on the glass edge, not resting partially against the rubber window seal or door frame. If you drive a vehicle with frameless windows (some two-door coupes and convertibles), the clip may not seat as securely — test at very low speed before full use.
At driving speed, a flag on a rigid pole transmits the full aerodynamic force directly to the window clip and the base of the pole — the two weakest points in the assembly. A rigid pole at 35–45 mph will either snap at the base or pop the clip off the window as the aerodynamic load peaks on gusts and acceleration. A flex pole absorbs that force by bending: the tip deflects backward as speed and wind load increase, which converts the direct bending stress into a smoother distributed flex along the pole's length. When you slow down or stop, the pole springs back upright. The trade-off is that a flex pole at high speed will be bent well past vertical — which is why the under-45-mph advisory exists. The flex pole doesn't make high-speed flying safe; it just means the pole survives moderate-speed driving far longer than a rigid pole would.
The window clip system is compatible with the vast majority of standard passenger vehicles — sedans, coupes, pickup trucks, SUVs, and minivans — that have conventional framed windows where the glass slides up and down inside a door frame. The clip seats on the top edge of the window glass when it is rolled down 2–3 inches. Vehicles where fitment may vary include frameless-window convertibles or two-door coupes (where the glass has no surrounding frame at the top edge), trucks with very thick door panels where the window edge is recessed deeply, and older vehicles where the window glass edge profile is unusually thin or thick. If you're unsure, the clip is easy to test at no risk: seat it on the glass edge while parked, and check that it grips firmly before driving.
Arizona's state flag was designed in 1917 by Captain Charles W. Harris of the Arizona National Guard. The flag is divided horizontally into two halves. The lower half is a solid blue field matching the same shade of blue used in the US flag. The upper half features thirteen alternating red and gold sunbeams radiating outward from the center — thirteen for the original thirteen colonies, and the red and gold specifically referencing the colors carried by Spanish conquistadors who explored the Arizona region in the 16th century. At the center of the flag, where the two halves meet, sits a large copper-colored five-pointed star. The copper star represents Arizona's identity as the nation's largest copper-producing state — a major element of the state's economy and history since Spanish colonial times. The flag was officially adopted by the Arizona State Legislature on February 27, 1917, five years after Arizona became the 48th state of the Union on February 14, 1912 — Arizona's Statehood Day.
It's not recommended for extended periods. While the clip and pole are designed to hold securely during driving and normal parking, leaving the flag assembly mounted overnight or over multiple days exposes it to several issues: sustained UV from Arizona's intense sun will accelerate color fading on the polyester flag, particularly if parked in direct sun; heat buildup inside a closed vehicle (which can reach 130–150°F in Arizona summers) can warp the plastic flex pole; and wind gusts from passing vehicles and overnight weather can stress the pole and clip beyond normal driving loads. For best results, remove the flag and pole after each use, store them inside the vehicle or at home, and reinstall at your next event. The assembly takes under 10 seconds to mount and dismount, making this a practical habit rather than an inconvenience.
Return within 30 days in original, unused condition for a full refund — prepaid return label provided, no questions asked. If your car flag kit arrives with a printing defect, a cracked or bent pole from shipping, or a window clip that fails to grip properly on first use, contact us within 30 days for a free replacement with no return shipping required on defective items. Note that pole breakage resulting from use above the recommended 45-mph speed limit is not covered under the defect policy — the speed advisory is a genuine engineering constraint, not a legal disclaimer.
